This year two Chisum Students were selected to exhibit at the k-12 NCECA juried student show in Sacramento, CA. NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts) hosts an annual conference with multiple exhibits running concurrently with the conference. 900 entries were submitted and only 150 entries were accepted.

At the exhibit Adamaris Jimenez received an Orton Cash Prize Award. Evan Martin received an Honorable Mention award from the juror, John Gill.

Six Students were selected for a juried student show at Kilgore College. Kristen Parson received first place in the painting category for her artwork: The New Normal.

We had a fantastic run at Junior VASE. 6 out of 7 artworks from Chisum received gold medals, superior rating 4, the highest rating. All students received gold medals for at least one artwork.

This year there were 56 entries across Region 8. 5 out of the 56 artworks received a Platinum medal. Our very own Bralee Reed received a Platinum Medal.

This month only: The High School VASE state qualifying artwork is on display at the trophy case in the art hallway. This is the only place to see this artwork together before the State VASE Event at the end of April. Artwork on display from Chisum HS, Chapel Hill HS, Mount Pleasant HS,  Mount Vernon HS, Texas HS.
