Paris Police responded to a theft of a vehicle in the 2000 block of Culbertson St at  6:53 A.M. on March 25, 2022. The victim reported that they had started the car and then returned inside the residence. When the victim returned to enter the vehicle, the vehicle was missing. Officers later located the vehicle unoccupied in the 1800 block of Jackson Ct. A juvenile female was observed returning to the vehicle and was found to have the keys to the vehicle in her possession. The juvenile was arrested. The investigation continues. 

Paris Police responded to a burglary of a business in the 600 block of Bonham St at  2:15 A.M. on March 26, 2022. An employee reported that they were driving by the complex and noticed that the front door to the office had been shattered. It has not been determined what was stolen. The investigation continues. 

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Martin Luther King, Jr Dr at 1:58  P.M. on March 26, 2022, for an expired registration violation. The driver, 30-year-old Lachardius Markell Grigsby, of Dallas, was found to be intoxicated. Grigsby was arrested and while being booked into the jail, was found to be in possession of cocaine. Grigsby was charged with expired registration violation, driving while intoxicated, and being in possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional/jail facility. Grigsby was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris police assisted Delta County Sheriff’s Department in a vehicle pursuit that was approaching the Paris City Limits. Officers attempted to encounter the vehicle on FM 1497.  The vehicle was attempting to hide behind a building. The vehicle then fled into a field and was pursued by Delta and Lamar County Deputies. The suspect vehicle later intentionally struck a Paris Police vehicle as it was attempting to return to the roadway. The vehicle then fled south and was later stopped in the Commerce area. The officer was not injured in the incident. Aggravated assault of a public servant charges are being sought on Larry Shundra Wigenton, of Dallas, who was the driver of the vehicle.

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of N Main St at 2:52 P.M. on March  27, 2022, for an expired registration violation. The driver, 49-year-old Jason Myrick  Robinson, of Powderly, Texas, was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of  McLennan County, Texas charging him with fraud by use or possession of identifying information. Robinson was later placed in the Lamar County Jail. 

Paris Police responded to 231 calls for service and arrested 17 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on March 27, 2022.
