Farmers Bank & Trust will host a fundraiser for first responders in the area featuring a basketball shoot-off and auctions. In addition, the bank will donate $25,000 of prize money to the first responders. The way it works: Paris firefighters and Paris police officers will have a half-court shot competition and the winner of that will get a percentage of the money raised while the losing team gets the remaining percentage of the money raised. It’s all about having fun while supporting a good cause.

The fun will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Trinity Christian Academy gym on Hwy 79.

“We are huge advocates and supporters of first responders,” said Farmers Bank & Trust Regional Market President Jeff Nutt. “Instead of just giving them a check, we wanted to do something that would be fun for them and something the community could be involved in.”

The goal, he said, is to support Paris Fire and Paris Police departments financially as much as possible with the community’s help, all while having a good time.

In addition to the basketball shot competition, there will also be both live and silent auctions going on.

“We will have two trailers to auction off – each has a retail value of between $3,000 – $5,000, a Broken Bow cabin stay, restaurant gift cards, guns, tires, and so much more,” Nutt added.

More details will be released as the event draws closer. Stay tuned!
