Paris Police arrested 41-year-old Dana Samwell Carmichael, of Paris, in the 1600 block of E Price St at 12:47 p.m. on March 21, 2022. Carmichael had an outstanding felony warrant charging him with theft of property of less than $2,500 with 2 or more previous convictions. While Carmichael was detained, Carmichael fled from the officer. After a short foot chase, Carmichael was apprehended. Once inside the city jail, Carmichael was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was additionally charged with evading arrest and possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility. Carmichael was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a burglary of a building in the 1700 block of Culbertson St at 3:27 p.m. on March 21, 2022. The victim reported that someone had entered the garage by possibly crawling through an opening in the outside wall and had stolen numerous items. The incident is under investigation.
Kevin Duane Wooten, 52, of Paris, was arrested in the 700 block of SE 23rd St at 1:50 a.m. on March 22, 2022, on a parole violation warrant. He was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
