Pfizer: Fourth COVID-19 shot is now ‘necessary’

Pfizer recently made an announcement that it is now “necessary” to get a fourth COVID-19 shot in order to continue protection against serious illness caused by the virus.
CEO Albert Bourla told CBS’s “Face the Nation” this weekend that the fourth booster is needed.
“First of all, we try very diligently to stay ahead of the virus because … many variants are coming and Omicron was the first one that was able to evade [vaccines] in a skillful way,” Bourla told CBS on Sunday. “It is necessary – a fourth booster – right now,” Bourla added. “The protection that you are getting from the third, it is good enough, actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths, but it’s not good against infections. It doesn’t last very long.”
According to NBC News’s reporting, the pharmaceutical giant will soon present data to the Food and Drug Administration regarding the fourth jab.
“I think we’re going to submit to FDA a significant progress of data about the need for a fourth dose, and they need to make their own conclusions, of course, and then CDC also,” Bourla told CNBC late last week. ” It’s clear that there is a need in an environment of Omicron to boost the immune response.”
With this information presented by the CEO, would you consider getting a fourth dose?
