A man living in Commerce was recently sentenced to 25 years in prison for child sex crimes. The indictment indicates the crimes happened around May 1, 2017, to a female child younger than 14 years of age.

Ronald Price Arizmendi, 24, was incited by a Hunt County grand jury in October 2019 for the continuous sexual abuse of a child. He was taken into custody in Greenville shortly thereafter. After pleading not guilty originally to the charges, a jury trial was set for the 354th District Court today. However, during a hearing in the court last week, he entered the guilty plea.

Judge Keli Aiken sentenced him to 25 years behind bars.

According to state law, the charge is a first-degree felony and is punishable by a maximum sentence of five to 99 years to life in prison.
