Annual adoption event for Lamar County dispatchers opens at noon

To help kick off the celebration for Nationa Public Safety Telecommunications Week coming up next month, Lamar County Adopt-a-Cop is opening up “adoptions” for all emergency dispatchers in Lamar County.

“Your adopted dispatcher will receive special preselected gifts during National Public Safety Telecommunications Week,” officials said.

To adopt someone, go to the Lamar County Adopt-a-Cop Facebook page and comment on the post to make the $35 adoption. From there, officials will send you a private message with a telecommunicator’s name. You can also request a specific telecommunicator to adopt. Alternatively, you can call 903-905-1229 to set up an adoption.
