Registration opens for United Way’s Kid’s Marathon

Registration is officially open for this year’s United Way of Lamar County’s Kid’s Marathon.

The fun begins Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Trail de Paris near the civic center.

“The event is a way to improve the health of the community and is offered free to any students in Lamar County, in Kindergarten through sixth grade,” officials said. “All students will receive a running log and run their first mile on the Trail de Paris on March 22nd.”

The event is designed to help encourage students to run a full marathon – which is 26.2 miles – over the course of eight weeks.

“Our primary goal is to encourage children to be more physically active,” officials added.

The finale to the marathon is set for Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 4 – 6 p.m. Registration is available today by clicking here.
