Paris Police responded to the 200 block of S Collegiate Dr at 10:00 A.M. on February  18, 2022, in reference to a fraud. The victim reported that someone had used their debit card to purchase merchandise online twice earlier on this date. The incidents are under investigation. 

Paris Police arrested 43-year-old Daryl Joe Dunavin, of Cooper, at 3:37 P.M. on  February 18, 2022, in the 3900 block of N Main St. Dunavin was found to have an outstanding felony parole violation warrant. He was later transferred to the Lamar County  Jail.

Paris Police responded to a possible narcotics violation in the 300 block of Bonham  St at 8:46 P.M. on February 18, 2022. Officers located Rodney Pierre Thomas, 56, of Paris,  and found that Thomas had three bond surrender warrants for his arrest. One of the warrants was for tampering or fabricating evidence charge. Thomas was found to be in possession of marijuana and pills that he did have a prescription to possess. Thomas was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police spoke with the victim of fraud at 4:27 P.M. on February 19, 2022, who reported that someone had used their debit to make a purchase online to the victim’s  Fingerhut account. The incident is under investigation. 

Paris Police responded to George Wright Homes in reference to an assault at 2:41  A.M.on February 21, 2022. A 22-year-old female reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her and choked her during an argument. The boyfriend left the scene before the officers arrived. The incident is under investigation.

Paris Police responded to 198 calls for service and arrested 5 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on February 20, 2022.
