The search for a missing woman from McCurtain County may have come to an end after officials found her car submerged in a lake with a body inside.

The 24-year-old woman was last seen in Hochatown and she was reported missing by family members on Monday.

Although there has been a lot of speculation that Walker-Donaldson’s disappearance is connected to the escaped inmates from the McCurtain County Jail, the sheriff’s office said they don’t believe there is a connection, but they aren’t ruling it out. Especially since the location where one of the escaped inmates was found is near the last place Walker-Donaldson was seen.

According to Sheriff Kevin Clardy, divers were searching Hippie Point at Broken Bow Lake, along with drones all day Wednesday, “working around the clock” to locate her as well as the escaped inmates.

Reportedly, on Wednesday, a sonar airplane located a white 2018 Buick Encore in the water that authorities said belongs to Walker-Donaldson, near the boat ramp at Stevens Gap Road, near the southern tip of Broken Bow Lake. The sheriff said crews were able to confirm this by using an underwater camera, which they used to discover that there is a body inside the car.

The body has not yet been officially identified.

A dive team will continue the investigation today.
