RECALL: At-home, illegally imported COVID-19 test recalled
File / FDA
An at-home, illegally imported COVID-19 Ag test has been voluntarily recalled by the Food and Drug Administration. The test is the Standard Q COVID-19 AG Home Test.
“The STANDARD Q COVID-19 Ag Home Test is not authorized, cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for distribution or use in the United States,” officials with the FDA wrote on the FDA website. “While there is no known distribution of these tests directly to consumers, SD Biosensor, Inc. is issuing this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.”
The FDA went on to say they encourage anyone with these tests to “discard and avoid any use.” If you have used them, they said you may want to consider getting retested with an FDA-authorized test.
According to SD Biosensor Inc., their officials are “taking appropriate measures” to make sure that the tests are no longer illegally imported into the U.S.
