Spring Varmint Hunt registration underway to support Paris Police Officers Association

The Spring Varmint Hunt has been set for Feb. 26-27, 2022, this year to benefit the Paris Police Officers Association and registration is underway.

“Enter your teams by stopping by Texas 2A Weigh-in location,” officials announced on social media.

Teams consist of two people, officials said, and the fee is $100 per team.

Scoring will consist of:

  • Mountain Lions, 500 points
  • Bobcats, 70 points
  • Foxes (red/grey), 60 points 
  • Coyotes, 60 points
  • Raccoons, 40 points 
  • Opossums, 30 points 
  • Rabbits, 15 points 
  • Armadillos, 30 points
  • Hogs (any size), 5 points
  • Big dog/cat, $40 per team (50% big dog payout, 50% big cat payout)

Mandatory check-in is on Feb. 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Texas 2A “Man”tique, 6325 Lamar Avenue in Reno. Hunting starts at noon on Feb. 26, 2022, and ends at noon the next day. Weigh-in will happen at American Towing from 12:30 – 1 p.m., and there will be a free lunch at the weigh-in.

Prizes include 2-AXIS Savage 243 or 2-Taurus Spectrum 280.
