A dog with a rough early life is now in need of our help to get life-saving treatment.

Tequilla is a 9-year-old dog who was used for fighting and breeding throughout her early life. Thankfully, she was recently adopted from the shelter and started to learn what love really is. Unfortunately, Tequilla was attacked by another dog.

“Her jaw was fractured and ripped apart and now needs surgery,” said MK Smith. “While doing her exam, they also found out she has heartworms and has lumps in her breasts that are possibly cancer and will need to be removed.”

Without these treatments, the veterinarian at Lamar Veterinary Clinic said she will not survive.

The estimate from the clinic is more than $2,000, and that’s assuming they don’t find anything else wrong once they begin treatment, Smith said. To help with this, a GoFundMe has been started. Click here to view or donate to the GoFundMe.

Alternatively, Smith said, those wanting to help can give directly to the clinic to help with Tequilla’s treatments.

So far, only $40 has been raised toward the $2,500 needed to help save Tequilla’s life.
