Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 300 block of SW 9th St at 6:08 P.M. on February 4, 2022. The victim reported that someone had entered their residence while they were away and had stolen numerous items. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of SE 33rd St at 6:36 P.M. on February 4, 2022. It was reported that a female had been assaulted by being choked. Bryan Scott Pickering, 50, of Paris, was arrested and charged with assault of a family or household member by impeding breathing. Pickering was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

At 6:43 P.M. on February 4, 2022, Paris Police spoke with the victim of a theft that had occurred in the 1100 block of Pine Bluff St. The victim reported that his father owns the residence and no one has lived there for several months. On this date, the victim found that a vehicle had been removed from that property. The victim advised that he had not given anyone permission to remove the vehicle. The investigation continues.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 3000 block of Clarksville St at 11:11 P.M. on February 4, 2022, for a defective headlamp violation. The driver, Marcus Daniel Ellis, 50, of Paris, was found to have an outstanding felony probation violation warrant. Ellis was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police stopped a vehicle for a headlamp violation in the 10 block of NW 3rd St at 1:40 A.M. on February 7, 2022. The driver, Jody Paul Haagensen, 42, of Paris, was found to be in possession of marijuana and more than 1 gram of methamphetamine. Haagensen was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
