Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 08:29 am; Officers responded to the 3500 block of North East Loop  286 to a possible assault-fighting call. Officers gained entry into an apartment to check for any victims of an assault and found 28-year-old Tanner Henry Wayne Strickland of Paris hiding in a shower.  Strickland was immediately handcuffed and placed under arrest for an outstanding TDCJ Felony  Parole Violation Warrant and transported to the Paris Police Department Jail.

Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 1:31 pm; Officers responded from a crime stopper’s tip to the 2300  block of West Austin Street. 24 year of Isaiah Lasaual Harris of Reno, Texas was found walking from the backyard and was informed of an outstanding Smith County warrant for his arrest. While attempting to place Harris in handcuffs; he resisted; trying to break free and run. After a short struggle; Harris was placed in the backseat of the patrol unit and charged with on-view Resist Arrest  Search or Transport and a Smith County Felony warrant for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 1:49 pm Officers were dispatched to a shoplifter call in the 1800  block of Clarksville Street. During the course of the investigation, 40-year-old Jeremy Jess Renfro of Arthur City was determined to have two outstanding warrants out of Oklahoma for Felony Theft by  Check and Class B Theft of Property. Renfro was booked in the Paris Police Department Jail.

Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 8:35 pm; Officer was dispatched to a Robbery in the 3700 block of NE  Loop 286. The victim reported that he had messaged a guy that he knows to come over and “smoke”. After a knock at the door; the victim opened the door to a male wearing a ski mask pointing a gun at him,  the “invited” “unmasked” guy, and approximately five other “masked” people. The intruders demanded money and physically assaulted the victim. The victim’s wallet and contents were taken;  however, he is reluctant to file charges and only notified police because of concern of the intruders using his Social Security Number. Investigators will review the incident.  

 Wednesday, January 19, 2022; The Paris Police Department responded to 60 calls for service and arrested 7 adult persons.
