The folks at Cypress Basin Hospice are encouraging the public to help them gather homemade Valentine’s Day cards for seniors. It’s called the Love Letter Challenge.

“The pandemic has been difficult for everyone, but the seniors in our community have been especially impacted,” said Volunteer Services Coordinator Christine Jackson. “Let’s show our love for local seniors in long-term care facilities by creating handmade Valentine’s Day cards. Pull out your crafts – construction paper, scissors, Crayons and more – and create a card.”

Just a card is all that’s needed; Officials are asking that you not include candy with the cards, as not everyone can enjoy the candy.

After you’ve made your cards, please drop them off at Paris Public Library, 326 S. Main Street, in Paris. If you’d like to schedule a pickup, call Jackson at 903-577-1510 no later than Wednesday, February 2.

Cards will be delivered to senior care facilities during the week of Feb. 7.
