  • Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 2200 block of Hubbard St at 9:42 A.M. on January 7, 2022. The reporting person reported that the residence was burglarized sometime between January 4th and January 7th. The investigation continues.

 

  • Paris Police met with a victim of fraud at 3:44 P.M. on January 7, 2022. The victim reported that they had met with a person to purchase some land in the county and when they attempted to get the land titled in their name, discovered that the person that sold the land did not have permission or the authority to do so. The investigation continues.

     

  • Paris Police responded to a suspicious person call in the 3900 block of Bonham St at 1:01 A.M. on January 8, 2022. Officers located a white male asleep inside a vehicle. During the investigation, 37-year-old Jack Devin Peek, of Paris, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a bottle of pills that he did not have a prescription for. Peek was arrested and charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance. Peek was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

     

  • At 8:40 A.M. on January 8, 2022, Paris Police responded to an assault in the 2600 block of Lamar Ave. The 25-year-old victim reported that her 30-year-old boyfriend had assaulted her by hitting her in the head with a glass bottle. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived and the investigation continues. The victim did not seek medical assistance.

     

Paris police responded to 196 calls for service and arrested 11 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on January 9, 2022.
