A second, more potent cold front arrives on Thursday and will draw in a brief bout of more arctic air to much of the area. Lows will start off in the 20s and 30s, with wind chill values in the teens and 20s for the Lower Brazos and Trinity River Valleys of eastern Central Texas where wind chills will be in the 30s. Highs will warm into the 30s and lower 40s north of I-20, with 40s and 50s across Central Texas…despite some sunshine. Brisk north winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts in excess of 30 mph will keep wind chills into the 20s and 30s in North Texas. Bundle up and make sure to wear layers to better protect against the expected arctic air and protect plants, pets, and check on people who may be elderly or sick during this cold spell.
