WEATHER ALERT || Elevated Fire Threats for Today and Storm Chances Return Sunday
Reported from the National Weather Service:
Despite seasonably cool weather conditions today and lighter winds, an elevated fire weather threat will continue for much of the region due to dry fuels and low afternoon humidity values between 15-25%. Another chilly night is in store for all of North and Central Texas tonight.
The National Weather Service predicts low storm chances return Sunday, primarily near and east of I-35 as a cold front moves through the area. A few storms may be strong to severe Sunday afternoon and evening. It will still be dry and breezy west of I-35 leading to an elevated threat of grass fires Sunday afternoon. By the beginning of next week, conditions will dry out and give way to warming temperatures, with highs in the mid-80s by Tuesday afternoon.
