Hawk Cove Police Arrest Two from May City Council Disturbance
A disturbance that broke out during the May 21st Hawk Cove City Council meeting has resulted in two more arrests. Henry Alan Butcher Jr. and Larry Don Browning were arrested by Hawk Cove Police Monday November 4th on a charge each of Aggravated Assault on A Public Servant.
During the May 21st City Council meeting, a group of citizens engaged in a disruption resulting in the removal of two individuals. As Hawk Cove Police Officers, including the Hawk Cove Police Chief attempted to remove the two individuals, three more citizens began interfering with the Police Officers. The Hawk Cove Police Chief and two Hawk Cove Police Officers were physically assaulted during the incident. The City Council Members vacated chambers after the Mayor declared the quorum broken. While none of the Hawk Cove Officers or citizens involved required immediate treatment for injuries, two of the citizens involved were transported to Hunt Regional Hospital-Quinlan for medical related issues.
The two individuals arrested Monday are
Henry Alan Butcher and Larry Don Browning.
Butcher remains in the Hunt County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond while Browning was released later Monday on a $200,000 bond.
Two other individuals were arrested shortly after the incident, Tiffany Browning charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, and Kenneth Cole for resisting arrest and disruption of a public meeting. Both were released on bond soon after they were booked into the Hunt County Detention Center. Tiffany Browning was indicted by a Hunt County Grand Jury on a felony charge on October 23rd.
A fifth person, Jerry L Hawkins, was charged with disruption of a public meeting.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
