Hunt County Sheriff’s Office seize large quantity of drugs and firearms
On Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 2500 block of Hunt County Road 4305 in Greenville. The search warrant was the result of a joint investigation between the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenville Police Department.
During the search of the residence, investigators seized a large quantity of methamphetamines, Fentanyl pills and other controlled substances. Also seized during the search was a stolen firearm, four other firearms and a large cache of ammunition
John Woodson Jr. a 36-vear-old Hunt County resident, who is currently on parole for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, was arrested and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 200 grams but less than 400 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1B more than1 gram but less than 4 grams and five counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
Woodson was transported to the Hunt County Detention Center where he awaits arraignment. Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones stated, “I want to thank the Greenville Police Department and their Narcotics Division for working alongside the Sheriff’s Office to get this dealer off the streets of Hunt County.
