Daycare trio arrested for child abuse

On Feb. 10, 2023, the Caddo Mills Police Department was notified of a possible injury to a child case involving employees of The Caddo Kids Academy located at 2800 State Highway 66 in Caddo Mills.

A parent informed officers that she reviewed a video of her child being abused by a daycare worker. Officers documented the incident, reviewed the video and the child was taken to the hospital by the parent for assessment.

On Feb. 11, 2023, an arrest warrant was issued for injury to a child, a 2nd-degree felony and an arrest was made. 26-year-old Courtney Lyn Gains of Greenville was taken into custody, per booking reports.

Officers notified Child Protective Services, and during the investigation, additional charges and warrants were issued for two more employees of the daycare.

On March 20 Amy Baker was arrested and booked into the Hunt County Detention Center On Charges of  Abandonment/Endanger child with imminent danger and bodily injury A bond amount of $150,000 has been set for Baker.

Olivia Grant was also arrested and booked into the Hunt County Detention Center on the same charges as Baker. Bond was denied for Baker.
