“Our veterans have given so much. We enjoy a way of life that no one else in the world does, and it would not be possible without them,” Director of Community Outreach David Gish said.

GISD Superintendent Sharon Boothe also saluted veterans and special guests. She expressed her pride in being a Marine Mom and having family members in several branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Other participants included:

  • Greenville High School Student Council
  • Greenville ISD Maintenance Staff
  • Greenville ISD Technology Department
  • GHS Flashes
  • GHS FFA
  • GHS Choir
  • GHS NJROTC
  • GHS Lion Pride Band
  • Greenville Fire Department
  • Greenville High School Culinary Arts
  • Hunt County Veterans Honor Guard
  • Farmers Electric Corporation
  • GISD Veterans Day planning committee

These volunteers make this program happen each year.

“This is always a special occasion, and veterans from all over the region come to be reunited and to stop and reflect on what it means to serve our country,” Gish said.

After the program, veterans and their families enjoyed a barbeque lunch sponsored by Terry Driggers Realty Services and homemade banana pudding for dessert made and served by the GHS Culinary Arts students.

This program was made possible by the generous sponsorships from Alliance Bank, Galyean Insurance Group, Tarpley Realtors and Air and Space Forces Association Northeast Chapter 416.
