Birthday memorial event to be held for Jonathan Price

An event is going to be held in Wolfe City this weekend to honor the late Jonathan Price, a man who was shot and killed by a Wolfe City police officer.
Shaun Lucas, who fatally shot the unarmed Price, was found not guilty last month on a charge of murder by jurors in the 354th District court. Lucas’ attorneys argued that the deadly force was justified. Price’s family has filed a civil complaint against Lucas and the City of Wolfe City.
The event is organized by Price’s sister Raylisa and is going to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5th at Wolfe City High School in the concession area. Price would have had a birthday on Nov. 3.
Price graduated from Wolfe City High School in 2007 and was well-known as a football star. The Wolfe City Independent School district voted last week to officially dedicate an athletic facility at his Alma Mater to him – the Jonathan Price Fieldhouse.
All who wish to remember Jonathan Price are welcome at the event.
