Three-day fiddle festival to take over downtown Greenville

The 8th annual Bob Wills Fiddle Festival & Contest will be held on Nov. 4 – 5 in downtown Greenville. 

The festivities will start on November 4 with fiddle player contestants registering at 6 p.m. at the Texan Theater Annex Building at 1414 Wesley Street. The G-town Dinner & Dance doors will open at 6 p.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center that evening. Tickets are required for the dinner and can be bought by contacting the Greenville Chamber of Commerce at Shelley@Greenvillechamber.com. A free dance by Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys will be at 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center. 

Saturday will start with food trucks and holiday vendors. The farmers market will open at 9 a.m. The first rounds of the fiddle contest start at 10 a.m. with free admission at the Texan Theater, including rounds all day, and finals later that day. The Veterans Day Parade will start at 10 a.m. down Lee Street. Free live western swing music will be available at the farmers market stage starting at 11:00 a.m. Featured artists and bands include The Western Flyers, Floyd Domino and His All Stars, Hot Club of Cowtown, and Jody Nic and The Texas Cowboys. Adult beverages will be available starting at 11 a.m. The Texas Steel Guitar Association will play at the downtown gazebo from 12 –  2 p.m.

The festival will close on Saturday with the headliner concert featuring Lee Roy Parnell, The Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys under the direction of Jason Roberts, and Brennen Leigh. The concert doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium. Tickets are required for entry and can be purchased at showtimeatthegma.com. All seating is reserved and parking is free.
