Patsy Jean Jones, 78, of Greenville, TX went to be with her lord and savior on Aug 13, 2022, with her daughters by her side, after a long battle with dementia and a short one with lung cancer. Patsy was born Dec 15, 1943, in Greenville, TX to Juanita Ward and Oral Smith.

Patsy was community-minded, she was an active member of Lions Club, and served as Mayor of her hometown, Celeste, for many years. Patsy worked in sales most of her life, her gift of gab rewarded her with many top salesperson positions. Her biggest achievement was holding the title of mom and granny.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Oralene Smith Moore; son, Jeffrey Wooten; and son in law, Paul Schumacher.

She is survived by her daughters: Tzena Schumacher, Judith Newman (husband John), and Anne McDonald. Daughter-in-law: Christie Wooten. Grandchildren: Jeremy Overstreet, Brian Overstreet, Matthew Wooten, Joseph Wooten (wife Bre) Kim Dunham, Heather Hopper and JT Newman. And Great Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Overstreet and Aliza Faith Wooten.

The family will have private graveside services for Patsy at the Celeste Cemetery at a later date. The family asks in leu of flowers, that donations be made either to American Lung Association, Dementia Society of America, or her favorite, Texas Lions Camp for kids with disabilities.
