VERIFIED: AutoZone and McDonald’s to replace old Luby’s/Tuscan Slice location
File / eExtra News
An AutoZone and another McDonald’s will replace the old Luby’s/Tuscan Slice building, according to Greg Sims, president and CEO of the Grenville Economic Development Corp.
Located at 7600 Wesley Street, the property has hosted a Luby’s Cafeteria in the past and, more recently, an outstanding Italian restaurant called Tuscan Slice, which closed in 2015.
Having sat vacant for the past seven years, the building was recently demolished. What will be built in its place? AutoZone Store #5166 and a new McDonald’s. The old McDonald’s will remain at its current location for now.
“Greenville will be a two-McDonald’s town,” Sims added.
Construction for the new McDonald’s is expected to begin in August, while construction for AutoZone will start with bidding in October.
