VERIFIED: Cinemark puts land site on hold for potential new theater

Cinemark has put a land site on hold for a potential new theater in the area.

“We hope it’s sooner rather than later but this is totally up to the Cinemark Corporation and their corporate strategy of capital outlay for new Cinemark theaters across the nation upon their chosen timing as it relates to Texas and the national economy,” said Greg Sims, president of Greenville EDC.

Regarding Texas Roadhouse and HEB, Sims said “all this information is hearsay.”

Cinemark is an American movie theater chain that started operations in 1984 and since then it has operated theaters in hundreds of locations throughout the Americas and in Taiwan. It is headquartered in Plano, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
