“Helping People Help People” is the motto for Trusted World, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping those in need. It also perfectly describes the mission of Greenville ISD Parent Involvement Facilitator Whitney Threatt.
“Whitney gets it,” Trusted World CEO and Founder Michael Garrett said during an awards breakfast during which Whitney was one of the top honorees. “She understands how to see people’s needs and how to fulfill them right away. She started by helping families at Carver Elementary, then she took her mission districtwide. She is an inspiration to us.”
“In seeing the amazing impact that Trusted World’s services had on Carver Elementary students, I immediately knew this was a resource I couldn’t keep to myself,” Whitney said. “Trusted World now serves all Greenville ISD campuses and has provided our students with hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of clothing, food, supplies, and toiletries since our partnership began in 2018.”
Whitney’s bio, which ran in the program, tells her moving story:
“Whitney Threatt grew up in Mansfield, Texas, where she graduated with honors from Legacy High School in 2014. After a traumatic childhood, Whitney knew she wanted to become someone who she needed as a child – a passionate and determined advocate for children who may otherwise fall through the cracks of unmet social service needs. She went on to receive an academic scholarship to attend Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. During this time, she served as the Director of Scholarship on the Panhellenic Council and was later elected to serve as the Director of New Member Education in her sorority, Alpha Phi.

After graduating in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in social work, she went on to become an elementary school social worker in Greenville. She now serves as the Parent Involvement Facilitator in Greenville ISD and aims to connect students and their families with local resources to meet a variety of needs. She has plans to obtain her master’s degree in social work and is committed to empowering others to overcome life’s unique challenges.”
