Franklin Rachel, 87, of Sherman, passed away on April 21, 2022. Franklin was born May 5, 1934 to Lester Franklin Rachel and Mary Ellen Lindsey.
Franklin was a man who loved to work with his hands. He owned a poultry and hatchery business where he raised baby chicks, ducks, and geese. He also worked as a diesel mechanic in the concrete business for Lattimore and Mr. Pullen in Greenville and Denison areas. When he wasn’t working, he liked to play poker, and he was good at it. He was so good at poker, he was able to build a house with his winnings.
Franklin is preceded in death by his loving wife Rachel I Rachel, daughters Mary Evelyn Rachel and Donna Lynn Rachel Hawkins; Brother, Bob Rachel and Sister Shirley Faye Lindsey. He leaves behind a daughter, Joann Rachel Hensley and husband David; Brother, Eddie Lively; Sister, Charlene Hackney; Nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of friends and loving relatives that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on April 25th at Lynch Funeral Service with a graveside service the following day from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Simmons Cemetery in Greenville, Texas.
