Robert ‘Bob’ Lee Smith || Obiutuary

Bob Smith went to be with his Savior on April 15, 2022. He was born in 1946 to John and Vera Smith in Lewisburg, PA. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. When he completed his tour, he attended Dallas Bible College where he met his sweetheart, RuthAnn Harrington. They were married in 1969, and the Lord blessed them with five children. He owned Auto Maintenance in Garland, TX for over 20 years. He was active for several years with the Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief, and enjoyed using his Bobcat in assisting with storm clean up. His greatest desire was to see others follow the Lord and study His Word.

Surviving him, is his wife of 52 years, RuthAnn, and children, David Smith of Round Rock, TX, Becky DeBoer and husband Dave of Gilmer, TX, Daniel Smith and wife Alice Rose of Madison Hts, VA, Joy Johnston and husband Rich of Lynchburg, VA, Amy Mercurio and husband Dan of League City, TX,; two sisters, Hope Greiner and Dawn Hummel of Kreamer, PA; three brothers-in-law, Tom Harrington and wife Linda of Gary, TX, Curtis Harrington of Hilliard, FL, Joel Harrington and wife Barb of Holland, MI. And one sister-in-law, Cathy Harrington of Henderson, TX. Bob is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Vera (Zechman) Smith, brothers-in-law, Barry Hummel and Mark Harrington, and one sister-in-law, Gail Harrington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Baptist Men or Greenville Bible Church.

There will be a visitation at 1 p.m. Tuesday April 19, 2022, and a service following at 2 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas. Interment will follow at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, Texas.
