Dan Keith Baley and Shirley Dean Shipp Baley have been reunited with their heavenly father and each other. Both had attended and graduated Royse City High School in 1956 and were married on October 4, 1957. Together they spent over 60 years loving each other, their family, and their Lord.
Dan Keith Baley was born on January 24, 1938, to Louise Hamilton and Andrew Baley in Union Valley, Texas. He was a man of many hats, being an ordained Deacon in the Baptist Church and serving as a Master Mason of the Texas Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He owned and operated a lawnmower shop in Quitman and later on in Mineola, TX where he was affectionally known as “Dashing Dan the Lawnmower Man”.
Shirley Dean Baley was born on June 15, 1938, to Christine Day and George Shipp in Emory, Texas. She was an active member of the Baptist Church and of the Grand Chapter of Texas Order of the Eastern Star. Shirley graduated from TJC School of Nursing and Health Sciences and worked as an RN.
Together, they are survived by their 3 children: Russell, Richard, and Randell, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Dan is survived by his siblings: Helen Carr, Ernest Baley, and Jerrell Baley. Shirley is survived by siblings: Zadie Luckett, Aletta Hurley, John Shipp, and Dorman Shipp. They also leave behind a host of loving friends, nieces, and nephews.
The family will be holding a joint memorial service at 2 PM on March 22, 2022, at Paradise Baptist Church in Caddo Mills, Texas.
