Greenville Fire-Rescue invites older adults or their caregivers to attend the third annual Senior Living Event on Thursday, March 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center (5501 Business Highway 69 S). The event is part of February’s National Independent Living Month and is aimed at helping residents live longer in their homes by reducing fire and fall emergencies among our older residents. (The event was pushed back in response to the last Covid surge). Family First Home Health is the co-sponsor with special sponsors of Superior One Health and SCRPT. Greenville Firefighters Association Local 997 will be providing free hot dogs to those in attendance and vendors will be providing door prizes.
New this year, free Connection rides for those 55 and over attending. Just call 903-454-1444 for a reservation! Over 30 vendors will be on hand, including Hunt Regional Medical Center which is providing free blood pressure screenings. Vendors will have information on needs such as home health, hospice, long-term care, banking, real estate, medical supplies, health and life insurance, dental needs, Meals on Wheels, and transportation. Other vendors will have information on senior-friendly activities such as Westview UMC Church’s Primetime group and the Walworth Harrison Public Library.
The free event is co-hosted by Greenville Fire-Rescue, Family First Home Health, and Greenville Firefighter’s Association Local 997 with special sponsors Superior One Health and SCRPT.
