Emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits have been extended through the end of January to help those in need.

This is part of the COVID-19 pandemic response that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is providing. The additional funds will help more than 1.5 million Texas households.

“This emergency SNAP support will ensure more than 1.5 million families can continue to put food on the table,” Gov. Greg Abbott said. “Thanks to the USDA for their continued collaboration with HHSC to provide healthy meals to Texans across the state.”

The emergency allotments should appear in accounts by Jan. 31, at the latest.
